How We Calculate This
Elevation Adjustment
Equivalent Flat Distance = (Actual Distance + (Elevation Gain / Factor)) x Terrain Multiplier
Based on Naismith's rule, adapted for running: approximately 1 extra km per 100m of climbing. The terrain multiplier adds additional effort for trail and technical surfaces. An adjusted pace is calculated by scaling your flat pace by the difficulty ratio.
