Cross-Training Equivalence
Different activities have different cardiovascular demands relative to running:
Equivalent Time = Run Duration x Activity Factor x Intensity Factor
Cycling: 1.5x duration | Swimming: 0.75x | Rowing: 0.9x | Elliptical: 1.1x | Aqua jogging: 1.2x | Walking: 2.5x
These factors approximate the time needed to achieve a similar aerobic training stimulus.
